There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about Plush Art Studio and the artist Brittany Freeman
I'm Brittany Freeman, and I am an artist/fabricator. I specialize in props, stop motion puppets, art dolls, and custom plush. I also paint with a special focus on wildlife art and pet portraits. I am entirely self taught, and utilize a wide array of techniques in my work. My main goal is to bring my materials to life, the materials may change, as well as the form they take, but life is always the most important ingredient.
My three-dimensional works are not just static sculptures; they are fully poseable and crafted from an eclectic mix of materials, including faux fur, polymer clay, epoxy, plaster, metal, and glass. Designed to be gently handled, these pieces embody my commitment to infusing life into the very fabric of my creations.
Early inspirations from luminaries like Jim Henson, marked by enchanting productions such as Labyrinth and Fraggle Rock, fueled my artistic journey. Childhood experiments with polymer clay monsters evolved into a lifelong passion. Although I initially aspired to be a veterinarian, my college years working for a veterinarian deepened my admiration for the beauty and resilience of animals, inspiring a profound connection that permeates my work.
For many years I worked in toy design, creating concept art, drafting patterns for, and creating prototypes for plush toys that have been mass produced all over the world.
With a background in toy design, I contributed to the creation of plush toys distributed globally. Presently, my artistic endeavors thrive in the realms of theater and film, collaborating with esteemed companies like Funny or Die, Epic Games, Robot Chicken, among others. Notable projects include contributions to Land Of Oz and The Chaser Foundation.
Original works, sewing patterns, kits, and materials are available in my shop, with limited edition prints on the horizon.
